There's no Place Like ::1

Here I am reporting from the end of day 1 of Intermediate Object Oriented Perl formation. What I have to say? Damian Conway is just a wonderful person, and a really really good speaker.

I just loved the way that he introduced and explained object orientation in Perl. And it is a great value to ear Damian because he has a really understanding of Perl internals, so he can complement his theoretical explanation with technological details. Usually on formations like this, I tend to get a little asleep after lunch, but altough Damian was talking of things that I already know, it was a pleasure to ear him.

Lots of good jokes and an attention to different cultures make Damian’s presentations a “must ear”.

But the day is not over yet. Tonight Damian is going to have a free talk with the title Quantum::Superpositions where a Perl hacker is going to talk about quantum mechanics. I invited some friends, so we hope to have a great time together.

So here I am reporting from the nearest McDonalds :)

Today I received notification of acceptance of a small (and hugly) paper I co-authored a year ago.

The paper was about a concept we called WebPaper. It is like a “Peddy Paper”, but using the full power of the Internet to anwser tricky questions.

The best part is that the article is so ugly so ugly so ugly that I’m ashamed of publishing it! :D

Maybe I’ll try to review it before the camera-ready version. Stay tuned… ;)

Today I watched the Disturbia. It was recommended by a friend of mine. Well.. overall it was a good movie. But the only thing that saved the movie was Sarah Roemer.

On a side note, one more movie sponsored by apple? I only saw imacs, ipods, quicktime, and itunes!

I was waiting to see this movie for a long time ago. Finally I got a good release! Good release, bad movie… Basic jokes, lots of flying bullets, and only one pretty woman… I really don’t recommend it.

Ok.. the joke about “Carlos Santana” was nice.. :-)

Tonight I watched the movie Next (or the next movie? :-)). I would say that, from the trailer, I had higher expectations about this movie. However, it was not too deep as I thought, and so I am disapointed. But anyway it is a good average movie. And Julianne Moore is still hot!
