apt-get update & upgrade should resolve the problem :) as far as i know. And even the best distro has failures, but the difference is that just take a few days to get corrected.
You can use Textile 2 markup here. The XHTML tags accepted are: a, abbr, acronym, b, blockquote, code, em, i, strike and strong.
