cp progress bar like wget ?

I was digging this for years… Zapping on the Debian planet, found a guy with a beautiful hackish script to do the job. And it works!

Why didn’t I remembered strace? Thank you Chris!

    Obrigado pela dica!

    Nos comentários do post original há uma sugestão igualmente interessante.

    A ideia é usar o scp com a origem e o destino a serem ficheiros locais, que pelos vistos funciona sem criar nenhum túnel de SSH neste caso particular.

    A grande vantagem é evitar o overhead do strace.

    Don’t know if you remmember, but (a few years ago) the default cp in gentoo had a flag to add the progress bar. I think it was -g
